In the New York State Senate, John voted to expand access to contraception; to protect doctors who perform life-saving care; and, to make New York a beacon of hope for women nationwide who have been denied access to reproductive healthcare in their home states. In Congress, John will continue to champion women’s rights and reproductive freedoms, including by:
- Codifying Reproductive Health Rights: Supporting the Women’s Health Protection Act to protect the right to access abortion care nationwide.
- Opposing Anti-Choice Legislation: Opposing a national abortion ban or any legislation that seeks to restrict reproductive rights, including access to birth control and IVF services.
- Protecting Care and Treatment: Opposing efforts to criminalize or penalize doctors and medical professionals who perform reproductive and maternal care services, and work to remove inequities in maternal care.
